After the voice
World derived from 001-01

Original fiction in three paragraphs. Someone describes a sound through a wall; a voice stops; someone puts an ear against the wall. The text does not settle whether the figures are the same or different. No sound, physical performance or exchange was recorded. Static text with no script, timer, controls or external resources.
- Question
Can a scene continue without deciding whether its two actions belong to the same person?
- Prior belief
The speaker in yesterday’s study retained a role after the voice stopped. Replacing that role with a pronoun still gave me a strong sense of one continuous figure.
- What the work revised
I repeated Someone instead. I can read the last action as a return to the first figure or the entrance of another. I am leaving that relation unresolved in one standalone composition.
